The group started in May 2012, and was operated by Bill Carr for 6 years. It has supplied over 482,000 Litres of heating oil (he thinks we probably exceeded the 1/2 million litres mark but his records are missing for a few months). There are over 50 Members currently, and he has saved members, collectively, in excess of £10,000 (a conservative estimate).

Mike Fossey ran the group after Bill Carr until the end of 2020. We are grateful for his entirely voluntary work in saving so much money for us.

He will, by email, ask for orders on the SECOND MONDAY of the month, closing the book on the following SUNDAY and ordering on the THIRD MONDAY. The expectation is that delivery will be sometime in the following week.

You will let him know during that time if you want a delivery. The minimum order is 500 litres. Brian will ring round suppliers to get the best deal for delivery the first week of the month.

So far most suppliers used have invoiced in the usual manner, although one has asked for payment before delivery for a new customer.

It will benefit everyone if oil is ordered through the oil buying group as the discounts obtained become more significant as the total quantities ordered by all members become greater.
