Dovenby WI October 2019

The AGM was opened by President Nita Eubank.

Because of the evening's events, supper was served first! Pie and peas followed by dessert, composing trifle, strawberries and fruit salad. Our thanks go to Bridekirk Dovenby School for the use of their kitchen facilities. Dearham pie shop certainly did us well. All eighteen members certainly enjoyed the feast.

Secretary Sheila Martin read the minutes for the 2019 year, giving full account of visits, speakers and other entertainment. She thanked Nita and treasurer Anita Birkett for their loyalty and commitment. Anita is now in her forty third year of support for Dovenby WI. Well done Anita!!

The treasure's report again was favourable, with an excess showing for the year.

Nita read the president's report, which was showing a successful year. She commented on the various events including good speakers, outings, the Christmas Party and visitors from others WIs. Again, thanks to the treasurer and secretary for their invaluable support.

The President, Secretary and Treasurer have been successfully reappointed for the next year. They are obviously doing an excellent job. Well done ladies!

The winner for most competition points was Ann Lister.
She received the annual winner's plate and an M&S voucher.

The three speakers' competition was also won by Ann.

Meetings are usually held at Bridekirk Dovenby School on the second Thursday of the month at 7:30pm. More details, contact details and a programme are to be found on http://www.bridekirkparish.org.uk/wi
