Dovenby WI October 2014

Seventeen members enjoyed a pie and pea supper followed by fresh fruit salad before Vice President Nita Eubank opened the AGM and Secretary Sheila Martin read the minutes of the 2013 AGM, which were duly accepted.

The Secretary then gave the report for the year mentioning the varied programme which ran from willow work to musical evenings and our 43rd year in office.

The Anita Birkett's Treasurer's report followed and was adopted.

The Vice President gave a report of the year's activities, and made the suggestion that fewer trips out, and more activity in the meeting room may be felt more appropriate by members.

The President and Secretary were thanked for their work during the year. The Committee agreed to stand for a further year.

Geraldine Baldwin will still stand as President, with the committee all agreeing to help as necessary during her illness. A card is being sent to her.

At the end of the meeting gifts brought in by members were on sale for the 'Grow a 10 Appeal'.

The annual competition was jointly won by Julie Rollison and Nancy Fearon.

Meetings are usually held at Bridekirk Dovenby School on the second Thursday of the month at 7:30pm. More details and a programme are to be found on http://www.bridekirkparish.org.uk.
