Dovenby WI May 2013

The meeting opened after secretary Carole Colquitt read last month's minutes which were then accepted.

President Geraldine Baldwin then went through the County News. A vote was then taken leading to the decision to back the resolution regarding high street shops which is to be presented to the June national AGM in Cardiff.

Due to the indisposition of the guest speaker, Diana Clark stepped in and gave a very interesting and in-depth talk about her work in the Cockermouth Save the Children shop, and explained the work done using the Save the Children funds.

This was followed by Nancy Fearon reading an amusing monologue in Cumbrian dialect.

The competition, a pretty scarf was won by Pat Saunders, with Hazel Graves in second place.

The raffle was won by Joyce Thompson.

The quiz was won by Nita Eubank, with Jean Moralee in second place.
