Dovenby WI April 2010

Following the business of the evening, President Diana Clark introduced guest speaker Lorna Norman to talk about and demonstrate Needle Felting. Recycling blankets and using wool from her own Herdwick sheep, Mrs Norman visits craft fairs in Cumbria, selling and demonstrating her goods. She brought cushion covers with many different designs and colours, and also brooches which she had made. Geraldine Baldwin tried her hand at Dry Felting, and found it fascinating to do.

Carol Colquit gave a vote of thanks for a very interesting evening.

The Competition - A decorated Easter Egg, was won by Pat Harper, with Anita Birkett in second place.

The Raffle - was won by Carol Colquit.

Dovenby WI is always happy to see new faces. Meetings are normally held on the second Thursday of the month at Bridekirk Dovenby School commencing at 7:30pm. apart from the December party which is elsewhere.
