Minutes of the meeting of Bridekirk Parish Council held on Thursday 12th July 2018

1.6.18 Apologies for absence received from Mr I McCambridge; Mrs C Fossey; Mr M Rollison; Cllr J Farebrother

2.6.18 The minutes of the meetings held on Thursday 14th June 2018 were signed as a true record.

3.6.18 Mr Hodgson declared an interest under item 8.6.18

4.6.18 There were two members of the public present who wished to talk about the feasibility of funding for cycle path. CCC Highways could not support due to the road being required to have national speed limit where it was being proposed. They provided figures for the cost of an alternative option which ran from the bottom of Annes Hill, however the route runs outside of the Bridekirk Parish and therefore it was resolved that it was outwith the power of the Parish Council to support at this time. The Chair thanked them for coming and for the work that they were doing and wished them well.

5.6.18 Accounts for payment approved

  • Grass Cutting -July 150 + August 150
  • Greenscapes - Dovenby Beck; Leaky dams, Fieldside 3,540 - BACS payment or change of name
  • BHIB Parish Council Insurance Premium 217.97
  • Clerks Salary to end of June 400

6.6.18 Reports from outside bodies

  • Allerdale Borough Council - Cllr Cockburn reported that Storeys will not be progressing the Broughton Development. This was welcomed by the Parish Council.
  • Cumbria County Council -Nobody present
  • Cumbria Constabulary - no report received at time of meeting.

7.6.18 Planning Applications - none received

8.6.18 - Clerks report -

9.6.18 Flooding updates - nothing to report.

10.6.18 - Parish Maintenance - The wall is cracking badly near the old entrance to the hospital and looks to be at risk of falling. This is believed to be owned by M Sport. It has been requested that M Sport get their own postcode as this is causing some difficulties with heavy goods vehicles being directed into the village of Dovenby by their sat nav equipment.

11.6.18 - Non Traveller Update - None received from Cllr Graham. Cllr Cockburn will make enquiries about any progress being made

12.6.18 - M Sport -No update to report.

13.6.18 - CCF - Nothing to report.
