7.8.18 Planning Applications -

  • Ref:2/2018/0435 Mr David Marrs. Proposal: Change of use of land and construction of agricultural storage building. Location: Wood View, Bridekirk, Dovenby. It was resolved that the Parish Council object to this application on the grounds that the information provided appeared to show a building out of proportion to the neighbouring dwellings, far too close in proximity to the neighbouring dwellings, has potential to restrict the access to the properties with the vehicles that would be using the building and questions were raised about whether this agricultural building was appropriate in what is currently a residential lonning. Clerk instructed to add these comments to the Allerdale Planning portal.

9.8.18 Flooding updates -

  • No issues this month so far, but there is an expectation of heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours. Clerk was instructed to write to Mr Alan Mullen of M Sport to request an urgent inspection of the wall adjoining the beck as one of the trees on the M Sport side managed to dislodge one of the coping stones which is now in the beck along with other debris, this will have potential implications if not removed. There are also trees growing through the wall at various points and it was discussed how this could be managed.
