Minutes of the meeting of Bridekirk Parish Council held on Thursday 11th April
Present: Mr R Stenson; Mr W Nixon ; Mr M Buckley;

1.3.19 Apologies for absence received from; Mr S
Dumbill, Mr M Rollison, Mr I McCambridge, Mr R Coy & Cllr J Farebrother;

Thursday 14th March 2109 were signed as a true record.
3.3.19 No declarations of interest were made.

5.3.19 Accounts for payment approved
- Clerks salary and expenses £400 salary, 3
months to 1st April 2019
- HMRC - £100
- Jackson Hetherington £200 grass cutting +
£150 Coach Rd works - £350

6.3.19 Reports from outside bodies
- Nobody present from CCC
- Allerdale BC - It has been reported that
Broughton now has a PIP (Planning in3Principle Agreement)
7.3.19 Planning Applications -
- No planning applications received during this
- Mr Stenson reported that he and the Chair had
attended a joint meeting of a number of PC's regarding Planning Development
in the local area, hosted by Broughton PC. The concern around the high
number of homes planned across four parcels of land to be built over a
fairly lengthy period. There would appear to be no infrastructure and
services included in these plans at this stage, The cost of monitoring this
was raised too. It was resolved that the PC would like more details of the
proposed plans by Broughton and whilst they agree in principal to the notion
of joining together, there would need to be more information about what
financial input would be required and what this would cover.

9.3.1 Flooding updates
10.3.19 - Parish Maintenance
- Grass cutting contract - New contract is
underway, and the additional work on the Coach Road has been completed, this
was deemed to have been a very good job and the view is that this was well
worth the price paid.
- Notice Boards - Not yet commenced with the
work as the contractor wants to be sure the wood is properly dried out
before he starts to make any alterations as this could be detrimental if the
wood has swollen and is subsequently shaved down too much.
- Bus Shelter, Dovenby- The bus shelter has now
been rendered safe by the owner, this news was welcomed by all.

13.3.19 - Cumbria Community Foundation
- Next meeting will not take place until early
September 2019. There was one small application received for £400 which was
approved, full details to follow.
14.3.19 Local Election Update
- It was reported that whilst all nine of the
current Parish Councillors had submitted their applications to sit for the
next period and all were eligible, there were three who had submitted
paperwork with an error that had not been picked up until it was too late.
It was resolved that these three Parish Councillors would be co-opted on to
the Parish Council in the April APM as per the advice of Democratic
Services. There were no other potential candidates putting their names
forward for election.
