BRIDEKIRK Parish Council

Minutes of the meeting held on 9th November 2017 at Bridekirk Dovenby School.

ATTENDEES: Mr S Dumbill (Chair), Mr R Stenson, Rev M Jackson, Mrs C Fossey, Mr M Rollison , Mr I McCambridge, Mr F Armstrong, Mrs J Farebrother

1.7.17. Apologies received from Mr R Coy, Cllr H Graham, Cumbria Constabulary

2.7.17. Minutes of previous meeting signed as a true record.

3.7.17. No declarations of interest made at this time, will note as agenda items are taken.

4.7.17 Suspension of Standing Orders. No member of the public present

5.7.17. Payments made.

  • Resolved that clerk should contact First Responders in relation to the payments made to Vodafone for their pagers request attendance at meeting to discuss further

6.7.17 Reports from outside bodies:

  • Cumbria County Council. Nobody present

  • Allerdale Borough Council - noise at M Sport, this was discussed and resolved that clerk would submit FOI request asking for all information held by Allerdale BC in relation to this matter.

  • Cumbria Constabulary - nobody present

7.7.17. Planning Applications:

  • Late application noted that had been previously objected to on the site in Tallentire. Object on grounds of overdevelopment of site, not in keeping with the existing buildings around it, sited next to a listed building, exceeds the usual development allowed in Planning Policy? Concerns about flooding in an already flood prone village.

8.7.17 Clerks report:

  • Clerk updated the Parish Council with the work undertaken and information circulated during the past month and purchase of printer/scanner.

9.7.17. Report on flooding issues:

  • A594 flooded badly overnight again due to the United Utilities work being undertaken and he disruption to the normal flow of water running away.

  • Request for an update from Cllr Graham regarding an progress he has made regarding road flooding on A594

  • Funding was granted through CCF for Fieldside Farm, from the windfarm fund. Rivers Trust are now in discussion with the farmer regarding measures to prevent future flooding.

10.7.17. Parish Maintenance -

  • Cllr Graham was going to look into the wall at Dovenby, no update received.

  • Bus shelter in Dovenby is in a shocking state and requires cleaning. Clerk to seek 3 estimates for next meeting.

11.7.17. To receive an update from Cllr Graham in situation relating to the non travellers on the A594 - information previously circulated.

12.7.17. M Sport. Covered in 6.7.17

13.7.17. Cumbria Community Foundation.

  • 1 application received and 8,000 granted for the Dovenby flood work to be undertaken.
